Restoring the original elegance of this lovely NW Washington home was our mission. Twenty tons of debris later, six bathrooms, a dining room, a mud room and the kitchen have been stripped to the studs and rebuilt.

With sleek modern seating, the style is hip. But, antiques scattered throughout ground our design in heritage.

A coffered ceiling and taller windows added to the new dining room provide architectural interest.

kent-kitchenweb — A traditional “bumped out” bank of windows replaced the 1970’s addition in the old kitchen. Afternoon sun now floods the beautiful new kitchen with light.

kent-kithallwayweb — The reclaimed beam over the new cooking area paired with stainless pantries and knotty alder cabinets combine city elegance and rustic charm.

Rugged refinement is the feeling when entering the new mud room.

Linen, cotton, leather and wool create visual texture in this simple yet complex master bedroom.

Evergreen Cottage

A Vintage cottage filled with sunshine was the perfect choice for this young couple to raise their two children, but it needed to feel more modern. A few lighting fixtures and soft hues of gray fabrics and finishes infused the living areas with a cool modern feel.

Taking cues from the garden, a sunroom style dining area conjures up the image of Al fresco dining every day!

Baker Park

Mature trees made natural light in this new kitchen workspace a challenge. A glass “greenhouse” roof solved the problem with style. Combining exposed brick walls, reclaimed wood floors and stainless steel cabinets gave this 20th century colonial a 21st century attitude.

East of Patrick

A busy couple wanted a casual getaway where they could retreat from their hectic lifestyle. With limited time to travel or manage two households, they did the next best thing and built their new home with a “resort” attitude.
